I heard it yesterday on Finebaum and again from two different directions from gator folks I know this morning. It seems Callaway has been reinstated to the gator football program. He must be Percy Harvin reincarnate as "this changes everything" per the gators. He's sooo talented and above his peers in college football that Florida now should be considered the favorite for the SEC East title.

Really?!?!? I'm scratching my head but granted I don't know Florida's offensive roster very well. And VN posters say/think what?

Sutton will have something to say about this, but on the field. Kind of hard to catch a pass when you have one of the best CBs in all of CFB blanketing you all night.

The only thing offensive about Florida is their coach's teeth.

Do I remember Sutton coming out of the game late last year against Florida due to injury? Or is that my imagination?

Bloggers and analysts are only trying to stir the pot even more before the season starts. It's still the offseason and people are scrambling for stories to write seeing as everything under the sun has been touched on. Wait till the season. All we have to worry about is ourselves.

I ask this as respectfully as i can.

When did Tennessee become so much better than everyone else?

I have no doubt Tennessee can accomplish (fill in the blank). I understand not only that they may, but they should.

However, i dont get the mentality that no one else belongs in the conversation.

There hasnt been a truly great team in the SEC East since 2009.

If the combined talent and coaching of this defense comes close to matching pre-season expectations, I don't see any WR in the country having their best day against the Volunteers.

Not sure what you're referring to since many sports media members have picked UT to win the east. You're butt hurt because the gators aren't in the conversation this year? Go win 10 games and prove everyone wrong.

If the presence or absence of a single player changes their season that significantly, that team has bigger problems than I thought.

I think most people would agree that the East is definitely an unknown quantity, and UT could very well not win, but I would tend to disagree with the notion that Antonio Callaway is just so amazing that he instantly makes up for the rest of Florida's weaknesses. He is a good receiver, and he had a good season in 2015.

But Florida has more questions at QB, RB, and OL. Doesn't matter if Amari Cooper is out there if your untested QB can't throw it to him and your OL can't block for the QB. And I'm not saying this is what will happen. Just that until games are played it's impossible to have these answers. On paper, Florida has many more question marks than TN.

And? Did you really expect anything else? Let them talk. People are just getting anxious for actual football to start back. It will only get worse the closer we get to Week 1. There will be more stories about how over-hyped TN is and more trash talk from the Gators.

Ignore it and get excited for the start of the season. We are clearly the more talented team in the East this year. We control our own destiny, no one else.

Yes, that 2009 team was so great, we need to take another look.

12 Georgia was 8 yards away from an SEC championship and a chance to throttle Notre Dame.

Personally, I'm nervous about Bama, UGA and UF this year (slightly less nervous about A&M). However, if our D is what it's supposed to be, and your OL is what we expect it to be, one UF receiver will not make much difference in the game.

We will see when the time comes. Remember that you're on a UT board, and thus many of us will be excited about the upcoming season.

Enjoy your stay.

You guys are seeing a little more of the real 99gator. He is OK with UT as long as UT "stays in its place".... but gets a little cranky when there's any sign that the Vols might not be UF's doormat anymore.

I think these are fair points. I believe we should be the favorite this year in the East. However, I think it will be a 3 team race. McElwain is a good coach and will keep Florida in the race despite issues with the Offense. Georgia has plenty of talent, Smart is simply an unknown as a HC. I just know I'm ready for us to prove this hype is justified on the field.
