Miami (FL) Miami Killian High School

Ht: 5-foot-11
Wt: 205 lbs
Forty: 4.32 secs
Class: 2009 (High School)

ESPN 150 Watch Lister Lamar Miller told affiliate Web site InsideTheU.com, "I've narrowed my list down to Florida State, West Virginia, South Florida, Central Florida, Tennessee and Florida."

Additionally, Miller said he was unable to contact the hometown Hurricanes coaching staff after they received running back commitment No. 2 from Mike James (Davenport, Fla./Ridge Community).

"I was trying to call the coaches, but they didn't pick up. I called the coaches to see if I still have an offer, but it went straight to the answering machine. When I talked to them earlier, they said they were only taking two running backs."

SCOUTING MILLER: There are athletes you watch and spend time checking out the things they do well – and of course, not so well. This is one of those football players who just know how great he is the first time he carries the ball.

His speed, strength and ability to run tackle-to-tackle or bounce the play outside has already elevated him to a status that few backs in the area achieve. From the time he first carried the football, there was little doubt that he will be one of the best around.

Miller is a quality football player who learned how to block and catch the ball out of the backfield during his sophomore year. Chances are, by the time he graduates, he could be one of the top 10 backs of all time in Miami-Dade County.

Every opponent who has competed against this stellar football talent have said that he is as good as you get at this level, and when you are talking about some of the greats who have played in the region, this is one of those players who has two full years to make a major statement.

MILLER MANIA: Nearly 40 years ago, Miami Killian had a running back that had speed, power and was considered one of the best in the country. The name Rufus "The Roadrunner" Ferguson is someone that the longtime fans compare Miller to. Ferguson went on to play at the University of Wisconsin.

A track standout, Miller combines that rare speed, size and strength that the great backs have.

WHAT THE COLLEGES RECRUITERS ARE SAYING: "I have watched some great backs come out of Miami over the past decade, but I have rarely watched one with the talent and overall athletic ability this standout has at such a young age."

Isn't that the same high school Morley attended?

yeah, sure is. I don't know if that will help us or not. I believe this HS has a reputation of not getting players academically ready, as well..but I might be wrong.

yeah he has a good video. isnt it strange there are so many runnning backs in this class we are in running for. i dunno how many we can sign. if they turn out like coker then that plays a role and academics and there are several factors there and competition is amongst players is def. a good thing too. If it was my call id have an all purpose medium sized back like foster, a bruiser full back allen i think it is and jarvis giles small quick and blistering fast. i like our setup for years to come if they all pan out. redshirting some is always a possibilty too.

killian is a terrible school.. they were my main rival in high school... and yes they dont get their kids ready for the ncaa and i hear the reason miami backed off this kid was becuase of grades and a lingering knee injury or something like that... but he does of mad skills
