Another gane where Bama faltered at the end. They did that a LOT under Shula. Did it Sabans first year too, and at the end of the season last year. Hopefully, Saban has all that worked out of them now.

This game was really the turning point of the season for the Vols. 2 weeks earlier against UGA before their bye week, they looked like a legit top 10 team the whole year, but ever since that UGA game, they never seemed the same again. They struggled against Bama, SC, and Kentucky while losing to LSU and Arky. I think if they kept playing the way they played before the Bama game, they would've went 11-1. I don't know what happened during that bye week, but it must've been bad. They just never looked the same.

Ainge played HORRIBLE in this game too. 3 first half INTs I think. Lots of his passes were just WAY off the mark too. He looked like Crompton...well, maybe not THAT bad.

Watching this game makes me happy to know that the days of "run at the guy with the ball as fast as you can and hit him with your shoulder" are gone. Im pretty sure CMK, CEO, and CLT are teaching these kids to WRAP UP!

Im sure Knowshawn and Maze will be happy if Berry stops hitting with his shoulder

defence was great i thought but the problem was offence. If Ainge was more accurate and made better decisions i think we would've done a lot more. oh, this wasn't entirely Ainge's fault either, (except the interceptions) the recievers really screwed up some easy catches. the offensive line looked pretty good out there actually. but then from there, it all went downhill...

overall this was a fun game to watch. It had all the makings of a great football rivalry. The bad plays, the bad calls, the occasional "what was he thinking?!" moment...all great. And in every fooball game i realized, there is always some crazy, stupid moment that everyone hates and can't believe just happened. For me, that was the catch that the bama player made using a vol's head and 2 other guys on him. Unbeliveable...

GO VOLS!

What year was it that UT beat Bama in several overtimes? I remember I was in PC and was getting ready to go deep sea fishing. Almost missed the boat cause of that damn game.

2003 I believe

One of my favorite games of the series, even if we did lose. Even better though was the game where you all had Bama beat till your running back fumbled the ball out the back of the end zone. I jumped so high out of my recliner that I torqued an ankle on the landing. LOL :)
