05-06 Vols vs 06-07 Vols


Which team is better? Or in other words, who would win?



2005-2006 Tennessee Vols ( 21-6 Regular Season )

Key Wins: (2x) Florida, Texas, Kentucky, (2x) S. Carolina

Top 3 Losses: Memphis, LSU, Oklahoma State


2006-2007 Tennessee Vols ( 22-9 Regular Season )

Key Wins: Memphis, Texas, Oklahoma State, Florida, Kentucky, Vanderbilt

Top 3 Losses: North Carolina, Florida, Ohio State


I may have left out somethings but I didn't feel like looking up everything that I had forgot, so, back to the question, which team is better? :popcorn:

22 wins. Wow. Exceeded my expectations by far.

But, to answer the question... I'd probably go with last year, based on experience alone. This year's team looks to be more talented, though.

I think this years team would take it, i think crews and chism would just wear on wingate he didnt really peak until the turny last year and these are 2 freshman playin great ball, chris lofton is a more complete player this year, jawuan bradshaw howell and ramar are playin solid and childress and tabb are havin good years to, this years team is also more athletic if i had to predict a score i would say 79-71

06-07 is better.

The difference was Lofton missed some games during the middle of the season otherwise the record would be better. 06-07 played a tougher schedule.

Bradshaw got hurt last season, but he hasn't played that great for most of this season so thats a wash.

It depends upon what part of the season your looking at for the teams.. End of their respective seasons goes to the new kids on the block. However, if you were to compare them early in their seasons then the old men take the win...

last year...but only because of experience...next year's team will be the best of the three years

Last year's team was exhausted and faltering by the end of the season.

The deeper bench seems to have kept this year's team fresher and even playing some of their best basketball of the season as they head into tournament time

too early to decide. we'll have to see how ya'll do in the big dance. right now i'd have to go with last year's team.

This is an easy question.. Last year's team faded because of depth issues. This season we are closing strong winning seven of our last eight regular season games.. Three of our losses came without Lofton in the lineup too. Apparently, we seem to peeking at the right time this season, which I think will lead us to a deeper result in the tournament this year..

Depth seems to be a good reason as to why this year's team would probably win. Speaking of which, I hate to look forward to next year when there is still promise for this one, but has anyone thought about the depth of next year? I'm actually kind of giddy about that thought. Think about this:

Lofton
R.Smith
J. Smith
Tabb
Howell
Chism
Crews
Childress
Tatum
Prince (Late Dec.)
McClain (possible ready-to-play post recruit)
Williams (RS)

Get the McClain kid and we are rotating 11 with 4 legit post players. That's gonna be fun.

Oh yes, it will be great. Even without McClain it would still be fun to watch

I agree, but my salivating mouth with him seems to override logical thought and dream of better days tomorrow as opposed to next week.

I just did a cartwheel in the living room thinking about this. YEAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!:rock: :dance2:
