8-42 vs ranked teams for the past 10 years kinda makes you think though.. maybe we should spend some real money and turn this thing around, agreed?

Then put your money where your mouth is and increase your donation to make something happen

That makes sense

It makes perfect sense. You're complaining about UT not spending money. Are you giving enough to help make it happen or are you content to just watch and complain about others?

Oh right PJ. Blame the fans for our problems. Classy...

We are spending 100 million on renovations. Ticket sales were at all time high. But it's my fault we won't spend on a top tier coach. LOL nice logic

The renovations amount is irrelevant to coaches salaries.

I did not blame all fans just the ones who constantly post "we need to spend more" when they spend nothing.

Just saw Finebaum post a stat that UT hasn't sold out a home game since 1999. Sad how far we've fallen

I'm pretty sure we fans spend a lot filling those seats, buying concessions, shirts, hats, on and on. The problem is that the university shops in the clearance bargain bin for coaches. And they spend the money made off the fans (because that's where that money comes from via SEC network and all the aforementioned sources) in miserly fashion that hasn't produced results and seem to be perfectly content to do so. So why do you act so outraged when fans would like for our beloved university to at least act like they're trying to get a top notch coach for once? I'm sure catbone spends his money on UT just like the rest of us, and he probably gets frustrated like most of us when they don't seem the least bit interested in being committed to winning if it costs more than a buck forty-five.

Blue font???

We have had home attendance of over 107,000 ten times since 2001... and then there was the matter of 130,000 in Bristol this year.

Catbone spends more on his VN membership than he does on UT

If the op can post his crap then I can post my stats too. Leave me alone!

It was a typo for the 100th time. It's 10 years for you intellectually challenged people. If yoy want 20 years it's 11 wins, with 4 of those coming in the '98 season.

Regardless of the typo the team has been bad for a majority of my life and sadly my son's whole life.Took my son to the game .It was his first game ever .Tears rolling down his face as we were leaving ,while fans were making fun of us as we left .That was the point to were I was fed up with it .I've thought to myself all weekend about all the disappointing times my son has had .Not to mention all the harassment he has taking at school Everytime we lose from bama fans and other kids . I feel responsible for all of it because he is a Vol fan because of me ..Don't know what it is about college ball but when my NFL team gets beat it's no big deal. But when the Vols lose its devastating compared to NFL. Maybe I'm just a product of what I've done to my son, meaning as a boy I would sit on my parents Bed listening to Ward and the Volunteer games every week. Sad part is at least I had the gift of Ward . My son has had dools and butch...

South Carolina was ranked 9th in 2013.

But to your main point #84.

If we win a National Title, once... then why not again?

Historically we just don't. Our winning percentage since 1980 is .64 ...thats 8 or 9 games a year . Looking back at all of the seasons since then , you will see that 8 or 9 is actually a good run excluding the 4 years in the 90's

Does Alabama have a more fertile recruiting ground than us?? No. Florida and UGA have better recruiting radiuss... yet Alabama is on another level. Why??

They do have much better in state recruiting. The state is currently the highest rated recruiting state. TN is not even ranked. When Saban came there , nearly half of his classes were Alabama recruits. They have slowed on in-state recruits but in the last two years they have pulled 11 4 and 5 star recruits from in-state. We are not even close.

No. When we pay for better... We WILL be better! It's that simple.

All of the coaches names are speculative picks at best. Even the best will get you 6 or 7 years of 'worse than now' until they get there classes in . OHHHHH...well Saban did it . He didnt do it at MSU . It took him 6 recruiting cycles in a similar recruiting environment with a depleted roster.

Tired of people bringing history into this. It's just that - history...

The greatest predictor of the future is ...history. We have to look at it.
