KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The No. 2/3 Tennessee soccer team returns to Regal Stadium for its final non-conference match and is set to face off against Georgia Southern at 1 p.m. ET Sunday.
Senior day festivities will take place after the match concludes. Admission is free for all preseason and regular-season soccer matches. For fans planning to attend, note that Tennessee's
clear bag policy will be in effect again this season. Regal Soccer Stadium will be a cashless venue for both concessions and the VolShop this season.
Last time out, UT tied with No. 14/15 Memphis, 0-0. The result continued Tennessee's unbeaten and shutout streak to six matches. The Lady Vols now sits 2-0-1 against top-15 opponents in 2025. Additionally, Thursday's outing marked the third shutout of the season against a top-15 opponent and is the fifth in the
Joe Kirt era.
TEAM EFFORT: Through the first six games, eight different Lady Vols have recorded at least two assists. The last time Tennessee had eight players with 2+ assists in a season was 2022.
BROWN HOLDS THE LINE: Senior defender
Ally Brown is building off a standout junior season in which she earned All-SEC Third Team honors after leading Tennessee with 1,800 minutes played and starting all 20 matches. Through the first six games of 2025, she has already matched her goal and assist totals from last season while playing a key role in a UT defense that has yet to concede a goal.
STRONG STUFF FROM STAYART: Redshirt senior
Jenna Stayart has recorded six points through the first six games of the 2025 season. She has already matched her career highs in both goals (2) and assists (2), and is on pace to surpass her single-season high in total minutes played, while dominating in midfield.
CHECK THE RANKINGS: Tennessee stays at no. 2 for the second consecutive week in the United Soccer Coaches Poll. It marks the highest-ever ranking in program history. It is the first time the Lady Vols have won five consecutive games to open the season since 2021, and it is the best start with
Joe Kirt at the helm.
MATCHUP HISTORY: Tennessee and Georgia Southern have faced off just once before. The lone macthup came in 2015 with the Lady Vols victorious, 2-0, at Regal Soccer Stadium.
UP NEXT: Tennessee heads on the road to Mississippi State to open SEC play. The game will kick off at 7 p.m. ET Friday.
