What the hell happened bTo ? I thought Cosby was almost a done deal, maybe Cosby and Dilione don't really like each other, maybe Cosby got caught trying to roofie Dilione's girlfriend ? Just a joke, you all. But, I find UT being left out of the top 4, strange. Maybe Cosby knocks all the hats off the table and grabs a Vols hat out of the crowd, that would be cool, if you are a Vols' fan
You’re one strange Dog, dawg.

Suck one, Rob. What a pr!ck comment
It does kind of play like a cheap shot, I guess. If those other schools believed in him earlier than Tennessee and that made a difference to him, then kudos to them, but it isn't like Tennessee waited an unreasonable amount of time to offer him. Those final 4 schools offered him on July 9th, July 9th, July 19th, and July 29th. Tennessee offered him on August 3rd.

Isn't that also his job to tell us that early, rather than pile on ?

Unlike others, I never heard that our staff believed we led for Cosby, and heard the opposite from others. I always thought it could improve with a visit. It’s unfortunate that we won’t one.

The visit was always a huge part, obviously…we recruited him hard, he constantly mentioned us in his Top 2-3 schools, and the way visits were set to line up it would’ve been months since seeing WF and Tennessee getting the last visit of the schools in his top group, so it just seemed to “make sense” that with a good visit they’d be in a good spot. As you mentioned it sounds like WF is likely landing spot and immediate playing time was a key factor in that.

If I were Cosby, I’d be choosing between Barnes and Bennett, but it’s not my choice. I always feel like a developing guard who visits us and understands the opportunity probably won’t see a better choice. I agree that our odds were riding on the visit. I just never heard that we led. I think proximity, and existing friendships with team members are strong at WF, and you’re also right that he can walk in and play the first year there.

I always thought if it wasn’t us, it was Alabama. Even when the WF rumors were flying. He’s a 3-point specialist and that is literally the core of a Nate Oats offense. I really don’t want to have to face this kid, so I hope he chooses elsewhere, but it always kind of felt obvious that he’d go to Alabama if it wasn’t us.
