‘23 VA PG Caleb Foster

One housekeeping issue to finish up the highly productive month of June that the staff had. The Vols got five-star 2023 point guard Caleb Foster up for an unofficial visit during the last few days of the live period last week. That’s a big deal. Foster, who is originally from North Carolina, but plays at Oak Hill Academy.

Foster is a Kennedy Chandler caliber prospect who will be in the conversation for who is the best point guard in that 2023 class. Getting him on campus this summer was big and signals that the Vols are likely going to be a factor. It also signals that prospects are noticing the kind of talent that’s been heading to Knoxville and how that talent has been developed.

Elite PGs are like elite QBs in football: You can't stop recruiting them and need to always be in on one every cycle. Doesn't mean you need to land one every cycle, but you at least need to be involved.

Barnes will also spend time in Indianapolis this weekend where he’ll see B.J. Edwards and Handje Tamba as well as 2022 point guard Caleb Foster, a top-ten national prospect in that class.
