Josh Palmer quote on Harrison Bailey (could mean Bailey starts?)

Even if Bailey starts and plays decently, I would guess that JG gets rolled back out there the next week once off COVID protocols. (assuming the rumors are true, of course)

    The Case for Keeping Pruitt

OP, I don't understand why you don't hold coaching accountable for the QB play. Pruitt has three QBs on the roster that he recruited. The argument that Chaney needs "his guy" has no merit. If those guys have the talent and work ethic to be granted a scholarship to play football in the SEC, the...

The reason we should hold off on coaching change

I simply cannot understand why someone could believe that a coach will somehow have a lightbulb come on and all of the sudden be great. If Pruitt was the right guy, we would know it by now.

If Pruitt doesn’t start Bailey and he continues to play Guarantano—do we start blaming Fulmer for not intervening?

ADs don’t intervene when coaches make bad decisions. They fire them when they make too many.

The point is that Mizzou has shown marked improvement each week they’ve played. As opposed to none at all that we’ve seen.

If UT played Mizzou today, I think UT loses.

Do you honestly think JG will be on the roster next year?

    Game. Set. Match. </thread>

Do you honestly think JG will be on the roster next year?

So no one seems to feel like he may not be asked to return? Even if CJP really does believe that JG is the team's best chance now, that doesn't mean he doesn't think one of the youngsters would be after a spring and fall camp of working with the ones. JG has caused coach a lot of grief from...

Do you honestly think JG will be on the roster next year?

I don't think so. While you and I might agree that it likely won't happen, if the team improves significantly next year, and especially if it is sparked by good play from underclassmen, I think CJP sticks around for another year.

    Pretend you're a booster

I would think that they would write the check IF they knew who was the heir apparent before they did so.

Do you honestly think JG will be on the roster next year?

I don't think they will renew him. It would move Pruitt from the lava hot seat to the dead man walking category.

Do you honestly think JG will be on the roster next year?

This question seems to get drug through many different threads. I am just curious of your thoughts, and why you believe as you do. Personally, I don't think he will return. And, despite what many believe to be Pruitt's motives, I am not certain that he will even be given the opportunity.

Has there ever been a coach that became GREAT after being terrible his first 3 years?

How on earth would you know something like that?

    Lee Sterling Theory

I don't see this as news. I think most of us think that CJP believes that JG gives the team the best chance to win. We just can't figure out why he would believe that. While I think he is wrong in his assessment, I support his position. I have no stomach for giving away games today in the...

Be careful what we wish for

This is simply a perpetuated false narrative. The only fanbases in the country that just smile and take it when their team is down are the ones with zero expectations. Unless a coach is taking a job of a coach retiring, they are taking the job of someone who just got fired. Coaches are fired all...

    Pruitt Approval Rating

If Pruitt wants to give us nine 10+ win seasons, be the winningest active HC in the FBS for several years, and throw in a couple of SEC championships and an undefeated national championship season before growing tired and complacent and be let go, I'll take it. He can stay.

Some thoughts on the season (looking back)

It’s pretty simple to me. Throw out the COVID, the all SEC schedule. Against the 8 game SEC core, they’re looking at a very likely 3-5 and possible 2-6. They were 5-3 last year. They’re going backwards.

    Hiring and Firing coaches

i believe I have managed my expectations well with Dooley, Jones, and now Pruitt. My philosophy is pretty simple. It’s “when things stop improving, he’s hit his ceiling.” My only requirement is to see improvement. I honestly wouldn’t care if it took 6-7 years to compete with elite teams if the...

Poll: Will You Empty Neyland in 2021?

I voted “no.” I am an East Tennessee native raised on the Vols and an alumnus of the university. I can’t just turn it off. There is no other college football program. No, I am not a season ticket holder, but I get to Knoxville almost every year for a game and try to travel to the closest ones...
