Grant Williams is the best NBA basketvol since…

Correct. I love everything about GWill, but Tobias is on a different skill level…and the contracts reflect it.

Ehh, Grant's contract reflects that he's on his first contract (which was non negotiable) and Tobias Harris' contract reflects the backwards business of basketball due to cap rules. Literally everybody knew he was overpaid as soon as he put ink to paper and he has yet to prove otherwise.

Grant will not make anywhere near what Tobias makes. And they don’t just give away big contracts to be nice.

Gonna go with King, Grunfeld, Watson then Harris. Probably even with Richardson.

It wasn't to be nice. It was because they either lost the asset and had no cap room to do anything else or overpaid him because they had bird rights.

Tobias is more skilled and would get paid more even if they were getting normal market value...but Grant is in his 3rd year and already has a better playoff resume than Harris. Tobias' career has barely mattered to any of the 5 franchises he's played for.

I mean, Huff and I rarely agree, but que the Morgan Freeman gif, "He's right, you know" or something like that

What?? That's nor even remotely accurate. Tobias has a career playoff average of 17.6 points, 8.6 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game over 44 games. Grant has averaged 5.9 points, 2.8 rebounds and 0.6 assists in 46 playoff games, he barely played in about half his career playoff games. Grant playing on better teams with better coaches in his career doesn't mean he has remotely a better playoff resume as an individual player.

Tobias has had a run of being with tanking/awful franchises or head case players like Simmons who fell flat on his face in the 2021-22 playoffs and cost the Sixers even though Tobias was sterling at 22 points and 9 rebounds a game, including 24 points and 14 rebounds in game 7 vs Atlanta, when Simmons put up 4 points and refused to even shoot layups. Tobias was scoring through double teams because the Hawks basically didn't even guard Simmons because he wouldn't shoot wide open shots. Tobias is one of the least respected multi-tool players in the NBA. He can score, rebound, shoot 3s, and shoots about 88-90 percent from the free throw line. Yet he gets scape-goated when Simmons is a nutjob, Harden is terrible and Embiid has his normal multiple key playoff games missed with injuries.

I'm not saying Harris has been bad in the playoffs. I'm saying his career has been pretty inconsequential and so is the playoff resume. He's been a nice player on bad/mediocre teams.

Grant's already played more career playoff games than Tobias. C's don't get out of the 2nd round without Grant and the Nets series may have been different, too. Toby has nice playoff averages but it's all pretty forgettable.

Psst…ignore those pesky stats and facts…it’s the narrative that matters.

Grant playing in more playoff games is a product of his team/coach and he barely played at all in about half those games. Robert Horry has 7 titles. He's not better than Charles Barkley with 0, nor does he have a better playoff resume than Barkley who averaged 23/13/3.5 in his playoff career. He just happened to be on better teams.

I can promise you that if Grant didn't go next level this year, Tobias would still have more playoff games under his belt and the margin would be significant. Grant has more playoff experience because he made life hell for the dudes everyone was saying were the 2 best players in the league.
