Trump's approval rating in the latest Fox News poll has him at 43% and the latest Rasmussen poll has him at 44%. Those are both down from where he was before the government shutdown began on December 22nd. You're not going to imply that either one of those polls are biased against Trump are you?

Why would the system break? Everyone is still working even though they aren't getting paid. If someone of them grow a pair and start calling out sick or quit THEN you'll see an issue..but its hard to walk away from that $150,000 a year job..

Steny Hoyer Throws Pelosi Under the Bus for 2nd Time in Two Weeks - David Harris Jr

Last week, Steny Hoyer stabbed Speaker Nancy Pelosi in the back by breaking with her over the border wall. He says that the wall is not immoral and that walls do work. Now, he has said that President Trump would be welcome give his SOTU speech from the House chamber. Pelosi is now expected to cave in and allow the President to speak. The President does not have to give his speech in the House chambers, although it has become a tradition. It is unlikely that Pelosi can stop Trump from giving his speech there if he demands it since all buildings are under the control of the Executive Branch and not the Speaker.

I don't see him doing it. Just giving more rope to Pelosi.

Sky has been the limit since the midterms. Democrats know they can go full blown obstructionist out of their hate for Trump and ass hurt over 2016. But this is just a speech, not a big deal with no real lasting implications. Its probably a big deal though to people who watch things like The Oscars, MTV award shows, and Are You Smarter Than a democrat Third Grader.

I think the only SOTUA I have ever watched was Bushes in 2002.



And to think people thought Republicans were bad with Obama.

If the cornerstone of the wall wasn't the notion that immigrants are "rapers and murderers," it could get built in a second. There's a fairly extensive history of governmental wastes of money of which the wall would be the next in line.

The Dems have put the amount of money Donnie wanted for the wall out there for border security, just not specifically a wall. Hopefully a compromise can be reached. This shutdown may end up having the effect of inviting in the sort of people the president was hoping to keep out with his own version of the "big dig."
