I know a little about this young man. Very high character, fits perfectly in our run scheme. Really good this year picking up blitz blocking scheme at TU. I know for a fact that they hated to lose him.
I watched him from the field He's very small, skinny hips and trunk. Definitely does not have the arm strength to make Heuple's offense go. He's very good at what they ask him to do there and he's fun to watch. Excellent FCS player!
Yes sir, more Vols than anyone would think. Get to many games at Tulane? They've done a great job bringing the program back. I'm going to try and make a few. I hope that Will keeps it rolling. Known him for 30 years.
He's very fast. Verified laser 4.4 forty time. He was out of position a lot because he's young and our defense was just awful from a scheme and front 7 standpoint. Fast and bad angles and alignment just puts you in a bad position faster. He's got the tools and I hope he sticks around.
BP is by no means on the same level with SL but if you watch all of his plays, he has some of the same skill set. He doesn't have to stride to throw, just has to get his hips square and torque throw. Also he has the potential to be an elite runner and scrambler. He played behind a very good run...
Having been a former resident of Louisiana and having some experience with political types down there, there's nothing that you could tell me that they were doing that is corrupt that would make me remotely surprised. All governments are corrupt and then there's Louisiana.
I agree with this to a degree. IMO, you need 3 or 4/5 of your starters to be transfers who have been developed in a high level university strength program. Try and find HS recruits who are physically mature and use them for depth/practice, find 5 stars that could possibly contribute right away...
I would agree with you if we were talking about 5 years ago. IMO, the schools who rely on developing HS offensive linemen as their lifeblood in this new era will always be on the outside looking in.
Any program trying to build OL with HS players in this portal era is way behind. There are very few OL who can make instant impacts. Coaches who do not build through the portal won't make it. Evaluating HS OL is a crap shoot for even the most experienced coaches.
The NFL is populated by WR's and DB's who can't sniff of 4.5. The SEC even more so. I have worked hundreds of camps with more than one thousand D1/SEC players in attendance. 4.5 and some technique will get you paid more money than you thought you could ever make.
Definitely going to happen. It's a good strategy for those schools. They get to align with a P5 school, share revenue and improve their school/AD. At some point, the whole structure is going to change. The cat is not going back into the bag with NIL. It will get much worse before it gets better...
