DeWayne Brown named Alabama’s 2025 Mr. Basketball

I must not have articulated my comparison well, as you missed the point. And, I didn't knock Barkley's "girth" at all. I just noted that they were both from Alabama, and similar in several ways. I certainly wasn't saying Brown is anywhere near the player at this point that Barkley eventually...

DeWayne Brown named Alabama’s 2025 Mr. Basketball

He's a bit lighter, taller, and quicker than the lightly recruited Charles Barkley was as the #7 player out of Alabama in 1981. Can Barnes turn him into the beast that the round-mound turned out to be? Heck yeah, he can.

    How long have they known?

Random scenario here...IF Nico had lit it up last year and was the consensus Heisman front runner going into next season, and we were predicted as a legit playoff contender...would we have just quietly worked to meet his demands? Since he had not quite lived up to his hype coming in, were we...

    POG today is….

Mashack is now officially the Juaun Jennings of Vols basketball. The similarities in their competitive nature is undeniable. Now, they each own a signature moment in their time here that will always be fondly remembered by us fans.

Kentucky stuns Tennessee with barrage of threes-west

I just saw an article headline, "Kentucky upsets Tennessee".... Just think about that a moment. Given the entire history of college basketball in the country, I'll take it. No complaints from me.

    Proud of this team

Auburn's not used to being physically dominated and pushed around like rag dolls. Their vaginas were obviously hurting on a couple of those overly dramatic flops and trips to the locker room to get their boo boos kissed. I do admire Broome's effort on a bum ankle, though. We would have beat them...

Why are people mad at Heupel?

Golesh was playing chess with our offense while he was here, while Halzle plays checkers now. We aren't polished and talented enough yet to be predictable on offense. It's much more difficult to run or pass block when everyone in the stadium knows what's coming and where the ball's going in a...

Do Grads of other Tenn. Colleges Root for the Vols?

If only Tennessee alumni rooted for the Vols, we would be similar to Vandy. I personally know far more avid Vols fans that did not go to school there than those that did. It's a home state thing. Somewhere like TX is another matter where you have 5-6 power 5 teams. I would guess it's more of a...

Anybody just lost interest in todays College football

I've learned not to get too excited when a big-time 4 or 5 star commits, or when that player actually signs, or when that player stays 2 or 3 years. They can be gone at any time. School loyalty no longer exists. I'm guessing about 90% of any team's roster would be gone in 60 seconds for a better...

NIL will not work without a-

How much does NIL effect a team like Boise State? They have a team loaded with "underpaid" 2 and 3 star players. Yet, they come in, get coached up, play with a chip on their shoulder, and always show out. They damn near beat Oregon and their 20 mil roster this year, and made the playoffs. It's...

Mike Matthews to portal? [He’s staying]

In this new NIL age, we're having to sign elite recruits not just once, but multiple times. Not an easy task.

    Let's Go, Joe!

They actually were hot potatoes, many times. They had to turn, quickly spot an incoming laser beam, make their adjustments in .01 second, and sacrifice the soft tissue on their hands to reel one in. I think many of Joe's inaccurate passes were the result of trying to gauge just how much to...

UPDATED Tim Banks a potential candidate for Miami and Clemson DC

Will he stay, or will he go? Thoughts? EDIT--*Sorry, did not see previous thread before posting https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/other/clemson-set-to-part-ways-with-defensive-coordinator-top-sec-candidate-emerges-as-frontrunner/ar-AA1wPQIU?ocid=hpmsn&cvid=5611308f6fbe4647f60a5aaacdc300b8&ei=29

Boo Carter "Having conversations about his future" [He’s staying]

If used properly, he could have a Percy Harvin type career on offense. Anyone remember him at UF? He killed us every time we faced them. He has the same skill set. Maybe not quite the breakaway speed, but close. I personally think his talent is a bit of a waste on defense.
