Sorry if I've missed this if it's been answered, but how does the play calling on offense go exactly?

I was watching a few Christmas shows and had no idea that Chad Krueger (Nickelback) was a Broadway actor. He has played in several plays as an extra in the Nativity scenes. He's played Joseph and even the front half of a donkey, but he's never made it as a Wiseman...
