Ziegler was an elite defender. Gillespie cannot prevent the drive to the basket. Gillespie perhaps a tad better offensively but overall not even close!!
After the success they've had under BP wonder how patient they'll be with SP? Pope's seat also heating up quickly. Let's hope the Vols warm it up even more Saturday.
Yep I think getting quality players from lower levels that are older may be the formula. A good or very good OL who is 22-23 from a lower level will come at a much better price than transfers from P4 teams. Same with DL. And those 22-23 yr olds with more physical maturity likely win the trench...
Well, Knecht has a much better range/shooting % and is more physical. He has more tools to make it in the NBA than Ament has shown thus far. Yes, fit on a team important but with Ament's current deficiencies not seeing where he assumes a real role on any team good or bad.
Last year the Vols were not...taking only 7 players and losing that many or more. Vandy took 24 and significantly improved their physicality on the LOS. In this era management of your roster via NIL more important than recruiting though recruiting remains important as well. But allocation of...
If Knecht is struggling to find a niche in the NBA folks are delusional thinking Ament is a sure one and done. Yes Ament is young with lots of potential and the NBA LOVES potential but I'm just not seeing it with Ament. Barnes hit with Knecht and then Chaz but so far Ament has been a miss. Sorry...
Poor FT shooting will doom this team on close road games or close home games for that matter. I would have this team shooting FTs in practice until they puked.
Yep, FT shooting or lack thereof is the Achilles heel of this team. And it's not just a one time occurrence--they've been around 50% or only slightly better several games.
Big Al Wilson. I think he was the big factor in the NC. Didn't he "peel paint" in the dressing room at halftime of the SECC game. Think he threatened to personally whoop some teammates behinds if they didn't put it all on the line. He just refused to lose!!
Fortunate to attend both of those. Miami and FSU fans were supremely confident they would win easily made the wins ever more sweet. I guy in the row in front of us in the Super Dome passed out drunk in the 3rd quarter and slumped over in his seat the remainder of the game. The defense that game...
The loss 9-6 to Bama still stings. We had an NC caliber team and should have rolled the Tide except Majors going so tight when playing Bama. We attempted a winning FG only to have it blocked and it went backwards around 30 yds if memory serves to allow Bama to quick the winning FG. Damn!!
