In most cases with modern football, any great team like Ga can make your defense look bad unless your team have an offense that can outscore the other team.
If they still have any chance at all of making the 12 team cut they will have to beat Vandy by a large margin. Hard to understand why the offense cannot stepup and score more points to support their great defense. It seems that when the Vols play the better teams, play calling is too...
It should be given more attention that in-stadium fans need hearing protection. 120db will leave you with hearing damage; hearing loss gets worse with longer time periods at such high db levels.
They have to beat either BAMA or GA to even be considered for the final 12. No more than 2 losses will even be considered. BAMA is their best hope since it is at home. That's even before they play Vandy and Kentucky.
On a positive note, great great defense...you saved the game !!! Not so good, many short range passes were open all night for easy yardage yet most passes thrown were low percentage catchable types like the bomb thrown when they really needed to control the ball. Better ball control and...
I'm hoping for the very best for the vols but its going to be very tough as they finish out the season. Every team is now getting quality players. Most major college teams are turning into mini nfl teams that can beat any other team on any given day. Vandy and Kentucky are good examples of...
Looking at TN remaining schedule, the only sure win is probable UTEP. No better than 50% chance on three, and worse than that on...well you know. LOL
Est Odds: win/lose
FLA-50/50
A-30/70
K-50/50
MS-60/40
G-25/75
UTEP-100/0
V-45/55
With 6 sec left, the coach either didn't tell QB to throw or lob the football into the endzone no matter what, or the QB didn't understand that was the only chance of winning at that point in time? WOW..you decide.
Too easy for those with the ability to make them. Or raise the goal another 2-3 ft. That would level the playing field a little and give all shooters more credit.
TN defense is tough; they just can't play 75% of the whole game and be effective. Offensive play calling and player decision making are the major problems. Head coach surely knows that but is afraid to rock the boat. Instead, he will settle for an 8-4 record and hopeful bowl game win. Really...
TN seems to be back to its ole ways against any decent team, scoring wise. I believe it's mainly offensive play calling, so it is on whoever is calling the plays. As for our QB, I suspect he is saving himself for the NFL. Considering how tough most SEC teams are, a most likely 8-4 record with...
Vols are very good but so are most all SEC teams.
Kentucky away- 50/50 tossup but they win at home-Loss
Conn-Win
Missou- they will out score Tn at their home-Loss
Ga-Loss
Vandy-60/40-Tn wins at home-Win
The Vols defense can hold its own against any team, but the offense is going have to play better and score more points if they want to beat the really big boys. That, imo, is on the offensive coach and play calling.
