Would it also be true if the defense had not allowed Miss State to score the Vols would have won even without the 14 points? Currently there are 12 SEC teams in the top 50 for total defense, but Tennessee is no where to be found... Not sure about you, but I was hoping for a little better...

Too many wide open pass plays, not just the DL issue. In general, I would say the defense is a BIG drop from last year. (at this point in time) Perhaps when we get everyone back (assuming we have not lost more) it will be a little better? Syracuse seems to be running and passing very well...
