I think Mauer has the "it" factor. He's a baller. But my read of his performance is that he had no idea what was going on and wasn't ready to do what you need to do to win big games. But he had the enthusiasm, energy and heart. Which matters. But isn't enough.

A lot of people questioned JRM's speed when he committed to the Vols. Said he wasn't fast enough to play in the SEC. But I remember Jayson Swain saying "the dude is just a baller". Seems Swain has an eye for talent.
