Skenes was a starting pitcher for tonight’s USA College Baseball Stars and Stripes game. 3.2 IP/4SO/2H/0BB and no runs. Stripes Walk Off Stars in Extras, 2-1

As a Freshman, Skenes hit .410 with 11 HRs as a catcher but came out of the bullpen for 11 Saves (30 K/26 IP). Four pitches with 95-98 mph fastball as a Sophomore. I’d say it depends on if he WANTS to catch as well as if he NEEDS to pitch (better $$$ as projected RHP in draft). Would love to...

He’s 6’6” with 95-98 mph fastball and 4 pitches. Phenomenal college catcher but I can’t see the longevity at his height. DH and 1B might be best options when not RHP in college. Just think his best chance at $$$ in draft is RHP.

Skenes is an awesome catcher/2-way player. But he projects as RHP for draft, so I think he’ll want to go somewhere he can pitch. Unfortunately, I think Texas A&M and Miss State have the edge with Arkansas as a long shot.

True, but he has a $9M arm hanging off the right side of his body. Skenes is an incredible young man who represents USAFA extremely well. He’s arguably the most talented athlete to ever walk the halls at AFA (including Chad Hennings), so it’s disappointing the Air Force isn’t leveraging this...
