We have wanted UT to pick someone and not take no for an answer. Overpaying is what can happen if you do that.

Franklin is a good smokescreen name to get us off the Campbell train - we’d accept anybody over him. Roll the Clemson oc back out - well take him.

I think Campbell is absolutely the best hire anybody could make but I don’t want to count on this happening because it sets us up for disappointment. I am okay with anybody (not Franklin) - it will be better than it was going to be. Better leadership means better research and networking - even...

There was some smoke that the ad and coach have been hired for a week or more - wonder if that could be true?

This late in the game they might need to hire an existing HC that can bring a lot of his staff - it might be hard to assemble a staff for a newby.

I think fit matters to DW. I think talking to the players and what coaches say in interviews will matter - not just resumes. I don’t think they’ll go try to give 7 million to someone with good a resume if they don’t fit here and you think they are waiting for some other situation. I don’t know...

Anybody is fine. We knew Pruitt hiring 10 new coaches for 1 year wasn’t going to work. Was not looking forward to spring and next fall.

We need to not get so worked up that we are disappointed when the real hire is made. Anything is better than watching a chaney offense next year

If Peyton wants to get involved send him down to do a film session with Chadwell to see if that offense will work in the SEC.

If the Haslams and Peyton are involved it seems the coach would have pro ties - that seems to be what they know these days.

I don’t think Kiffin can stay interested in any place long term. I don’t think he would give stability.

Whoever we end up with will be more interesting than it was going to be. Hopefully they’ll be better coaches too.

No matter what next year should be more interesting than year 4 of Pruitt was shaping up to be. Hopefully the main push with Steele was Fulmer. I would think they would say he will be considered as HC is incentive to do a good job as an interim (but not sincere except as a last resort).
