My wife and I were fortunate enough to experience "The Miracle at South Bend". Just walking up to that stadium, especially before they expaned it and added lights, you could just feel the history of that place. Then going on the field after the game and celebrating with the Big Orange was awesome.

I used 2x4's on mine, that is what the rules stated. It is painted with glossy latex paint and yes it does soak it up! The sandpaper I think was 100 grit.
