I don’t know that any Vol football player has represented the university on and off the field better than Josh Dobbs. He’s way up on my list. I love Peyton to death, but he didn’t work on the F-35 engine between seasons before beating the gators.
100 percent. These guys absolutely bleed orange, and play for the love of the game, their school, and the guys next to them. The alumni of the rugby team do what they can to support them, but these guys mostly cover their own expenses to play. Collegiate athletics at its absolute purest right here.
For the second time in their 55 year history the UT Rugby Football Club have won a national championship, coming from behind to beat the Bowling Green Falcons at the Championship tournament in Houston. They also beat Bowling Green to win their first natty in ‘21. This team has been consistently...
False. Last night we lost to a playoff team with tons of seniors who had already beaten Bama, LSU, Auburn in the last two years. Best team in 70 years for that school. Wyoming, Georgia State, Kentucky were the dark years.
Yall are insane. You realize if Heupel leaves we could very well be looking at a return to the dark years. We aren’t going to win big in a hiring season like this. We need (and should all want) stability. We had an off year and got to 8 wins before a bowl. Chill out people.
If you go back to the preseason threads, most had this team as an 8 win team, +/- 1 win. This team was always gonna be young, with a lot of talent but with a lot of talent lost to graduation and transfer, with some season long injuries at key positions (especially defensively).
It stings so much...
I am definitely curious to see what he does without Pavia next year. The decision to stay is definitely interesting, as the obly decent Vandy coach in recent memory (Franklin) absolutely used it as a stepping stone to bigger things. It will be interesting to see if stability translates to...
He’s a Nashville native and Vandy alum, and is currently beloved at his up and coming Alma Mater. I don’t blame him for holding onto that situation over the cluster in Gainesville with higher expectations and (imo) a worse quality of living than in Nashville
I can only speak for what I see from my seats in R34, but its been pretty damn loud in every game that matters. OK players once again saying that’s the loudest stadium they’ve ever played in. I have no doubt that we will pump it up against our in state rival.
Vandy is gonna have trouble keeping Coach Lea with all the big positions opened up. If you do anything but fail at Vandy it becomes a stepping stone, a la James Franklin
I grew up in Nashville, my mom worked at VUMC for over 20 years. Heck, a scholarship from that employment paid for me to go to UT, and I even took chemistry there over the summer (wore an orange UT shirt for my VU student ID). I’ve got plenty of love for Vandy as an institution.
To Hell with the...
