If David is the right fit- they need to do whatever possible to make it work this year. I do not believe they can afford a short term solution. Some of the posts about Corn do concern me- specifically that his own JUCO players would not want to come play for him.....that is a big red flag.

I totally disagree with the above statement, David is easily the best of the named candidates for this job if he is still in the running. Forget about the assistants- they will get 1 year to prove themselves because it is too late to do otherwise right now. All in all, the search committee...

I did hear a little more about the search. I heard Delmonico was scheduled for an interview and then backed out. Also heard that another interview was offered and the candidate declined. Appears to be that Corn is the only candidate that has actually interviewed for the job..........a...

My guess is that they had 30-40 applicants for the job. Lots of turnover this year in D1 and JC coaches will almost always apply for jobs in their region. This job looks to have also attracted a lot of HS coaching candidates. Maybe someone will ask in the forum?

I hope this is not the only candidate they bring in. Honestly this seems very similar to the history Cates had. Successful JC coach with no D1 experience. D1 experience does not appear to be a requirement at all though. No idea on the interest from these two guys- but they seem to me like...

BK- I agree with the remarks about pitching- it sure makes winning easier if you are in every game. Not totally against JC coach- but I think D1 recruiting experience is a must. You hearing about any other candidates? Very little on-line about this opening.

I totally agree with UTSwag. He is not what UTM needs right now. You cannot argue with almost 700 D1 wins if he is hired- but be ready to say goodbye as soon as the next offer comes in. For a guy who has made multiple trips to the CWS, he sure has had trouble finding another HC job. MTSU...
