I think it's pretty clear it was a touchdown. Just because he pulled one hand off to stretch further doesn't meant he lost control. Refs blew it as usual.
Having the best arm doesn't always make them the best option. Just ask Florida about Teblow and Texas about knee was down and was a forward lateral Vince Young.
Honestly I don't see how starting Dobbs would be any worse than Worley and from the highlights I have watched of Dobbs he comes from a read option offense so he already understands it to an extent.
And if you can get that linebacker biting on the QB pulling then that opens up the play action to the flats when the QB pulls left and the line back bites. Also people trying to put the bad QB play on the young receivers should go out and try to catch a ball only a Star playing on an NFL roster...
Although I agree to an extent but the running game can be given some life with wr motions through the back field turning the read option into a triple read option. I feel like our playbook has less plays currently than my highschool team had when I played.
I agree that when he does run it's as if he is in quick sand but damn I've seen the DE's crashing all year and there have been plenty of times where he could have gotten 10-20 yards if he pulls it.
It isn't so bad when he does keep it, I think he averaged around 11 a carry when he did?, but I've only seen him pull it 3 times all season so why is it even in the playbook if he is too scared to pull it or too dumb to read it correctly.
(edit) And thanks for the welcome. :)
I think people could handle the bad play on the field if it were'nt for the same crappy read option being ran 80% of the time with the other team knowing the QB is never gonna keep it or the crappy playing calling in the red zone with a QB who couldn't hit the side of a barn standing 10 feet away.
