Yes sir, I am indeed arguing for that guy.
That guy had one bad performance. No one in the history of football has ever been defined by their worst performance. Peterman beat all the QBs out last year and he's beating them all out again this year and I'm excited for it. I want a QB who has...
Hhhmmm weird - I got my stats from NCAA.org and as I said, the site shows Mizzou being ranked 66th in total defense in the FBS in 2013 for games through 11/01/13 and we played them on 11/02/13 (attached). They were ranked 11th in sacks and tied for 8th in turnovers caused that week.
Florida...
I don't think it's apples to apples. Missouri's defense was ranked 66th nationally when we played them that week. Florida's defense was ranked 3rd nationally.
1st Half
11/18 101yds 1 INT
Game
26/42 240yds 2 INT
Final: 3-31 Missouri
Peterman's first half stats @FL - 4/11 5 yds. 2 INT
Dobbs first half stats vs. VU - 4/7 5 yds. 2 INT
Yet everyone lost their minds about losing to the gators when the "game was in reach"! Vandy was at home! We lost by four at home to Vandy and by 14 to Florida at the Swamp.
But no...
Seriously! They had the #3 defense in the nation at the time he played them. They had a 4-8 season because they were decimated by something like 23 scholarship players receiving injuries in one year!

@ocerla Worley has always been their safety blanket whod start unless someone significantly outplayed him. Peterman is doing that now.
Football Time in TN ‏@FootballTimeMag 4h
@ocerla its not that, its that Peterman has outplayed him...
Yea I am not sure why either. But if memory serves correctly, isn't that what happened last year? Worley got reps with the 1s all week leading up to UF and then they named Peterman the starter Friday afternoon?
Hashtag misdirection...
Agreed.
I was a vol fan that defended Peterman a month ago. 3 months ago. 10 months ago. I think he has what it takes to be a great success in this league and has worked harder than anyone to be the best he can be.
IMO, a lot of people will be swallowing crow by Saturday in regards to...
I think he was clapping in the encouraging "let's go" manner not the malicious manner you're talking about. He's got great character. Spoke well of Peterman after the game too - never threw him under the bus.
Agreed. I posted this on another thread but think it is more appropriate here. Calling it now - Peterman gets named the starter this week.

Mmmm I don't agree. I think it has been more of an indicator of it being a new program, with a whole new staff, with an incumbent qb who has seniority, experience, but under impresses and yet still has been given every opportunity to succeed in the new system. A second qb battle being another...
I think Peterman's offer list was effected by the fact that he changed his throwing motion his junior year (for the better) but made him a dark horse - he was flying under the radar. The only reason UT offered was because he showed up to one of their camps and blew them away.
And add in the...
I mean I'm just saying - and I know, I know that we only are seeing clips and bits - but I think of it more as an audit. A sample of the true population.
But Butch's full quote from today was:
"We are getting closer to naming a starting quarterback," Jones said after Tennessee's practice...
