Saw this projection somewhere. No way they do this to Texas and UGA. This would mean Texas next game would likely be a 3rd game vs UGA, and 2nd in a row. I really think they will shuffle seeding based on match ups. How do you do that here?
5 ND v 12 Bama
6 UGA v 11 ASU
7 PSU v Indiana (didn’t...
I think the opposite. They may pair 2 sec teams but I think they will try to avoid rematches in round 1. I don’t think you’ll see Ohio state play Penn state or Indiana round 1, or Vols play UGA. Now, maybe Indiana v Penn state and Vols v Texas bc they didn’t play, but no rematches round 1...
This. It also creates “match ups”. 2 big programs and 2 matchups with in state rivalries. If it ended right now, I’d guess we’d host osu. They aren’t gonna reward osu with a home game after that. But a lot of football left.
I think sec is different from other conferences. I wouldn’t punish Texas or UGA after a rematch… a top 10 matchup. But I would punish a weaker conference.
That’s way too many for football. You’d have to win 5 games to win the championship. 16 is a nice even number. No byes. Top 4 getting mid majors or avg big 5 team at home 1st round. Prob an upset every now and then. 1st two rounds before Christmas, and semis on new years.
Honestly. If texas loses one of last 2, I could see committee matching up the UTs bc
They didn’t play in regular season. Lots of football to play though.
This. In addition, any losses Texas or UGA will have going forward are “better loses” than Arkansas. Vols v Texas both having two losses, Texas losses would both be ranked opponents. Same with UGA… I believe only way Vols pass them is a Georgia Tech loss. And As others have said, I don’t think...
