Agreed. Georgia has talent, but they are young. If the crowd can be a factor and rattle their new starting QB and some of their other young players we may get it done this year in Neyland. But it has to be an orange nightmare from start to finish for Georgia's offense. I suspect as long as we...
Honestly, I don't even mind it. The SEC is murderer's row every year and although I'm lukewarm at best on many of Herbie's takes, I remember him saying last year that power conference schools were going to end up scheduling fluffy non-conference games because in the end it doesn't matter when...
I'm very interested as well. It's a complete enigma at this point. A few things I'm curious to see how they play out this season:
1. The obvious one---QB play
2. The running game with a more experienced Bishop, Lewis and the addition of Star Thomas
3. The defense
4. WR play; particularly...
And even if they didn't hate Nico, constantly hearing from his dad about how he needed to be surrounded by "more talent" and basically calling the current players not good enough isn't very well received (especially when there more than a few times that the receivers had the DBs beaten and Nico...
I also don't feel like it's fair to compare the OSU team that played Michigan to the OSU team that we ended up seeing. When they lost to Michigan it lit a fire inside of them and their NFL-lite roster really stepped it up. They pretty much ran through everyone en route to a natty. I don't...
Agreed. Take away the D line and Sampson and we lose a few more games. Nico was fine as a game manager, but he certainly didn't win us any games that I can recall. The most frustrating part was his lack of a deep ball. If Heupel's offense is going to be explosive you need someone who can hit...
Obvious answer is Tony V. because he's won it all; but I'll personally miss Barnes the most when he leaves. He's done some incredible things here and it feels like he's been the coach here for 20 years even though it's not been that long. I'm not sure we will find another coach who can find...
True. But he also injected some much needed life into both programs. Even though he's not exactly a star, I was impressed that he managed to develop Malik Willis and get him drafted at a small school like Liberty as well as take that same school to bowl games during his entire tenure there. I...
I'll eat my crow on that one for sure. I wanted him bad after Pruitt was fired after seeing what he did at Ole Miss and Liberty; but man has he been a dud at Auburn.
The last time that I was there was for the 07 game where we broke their hearts, so it was enjoyable. Otherwise, compared to Neyland it feels like a Sun Belt stadium.
This. I'm going to give a possibly unpopular opinion and state that X's and O's Heupel is right there with Kirby. He just doesn't have a roster full of five stars. Can he get there? I hope so. That will ultimately decide whether he gets a natty or not, I don't think that it will be for lack...
I'm a realist--if that's the case, I'll take 9-10 wins a year for the time being. Ten wins likely gets you into the playoff each year and gives you a shot, as well as keeping the program relevant. If Heupel eventually "stagnates" then the program is at least attractive again. That being said...
The downfield misses were very frustrating. It doesn't matter who you are playing--if the receiver has a few steps on the corner it's just throw and catch at that point. No reason for some of those wide open misses.
