Random thought here… I always thought it was interesting that Brainerd always had hot fish sandwiches at their football games in the late 90’s. Anyone know if that is still a thing?
I think the jury is still out until more talent is in place. I want to think it will improve greatly with talent, but it feels like we are still too far away to tell. As long as we continue to improve defensively I will keep my optimism.
If I had to pick blindly I would pick a playoff loss. But since I know that Clemson is the Orange Bowl win, that makes it more meaningful for me. I’ve been looking forward to this since 2004. Also, recruits perceive Clemson as a top notch team, so I think this win goes a long way for recruiting.
Correct; he was better on Saturday. He could come out the next game looking like a middle schooler. It wouldn’t be the first time he has played well only to play equally bad the next 2 games. I think he should be the starter at this point and agree that he looks better right now, but Maurer...
If it was so clear the coaches wouldn’t be going back and forth about who to put in. Guarantano has played well at times. But at other times he has been atrocious.
I don’t think there really is a “best” quarterback right now. It just depends on who has a hot hand on game day.
Also, the blocked xp turned out huge as it forced Kentucky to go for the td on the last drive.
It’s not dead if the carrier re-establishes forward progress before the play is whistled dead. But he didn’t re-establish forward progress so it is spotted at point of initial contact.
When a player is retreating the ball is spotted at the point of initial contact by the defender provided he brings the ball carrier down. If this was not the rule you could just pick up a retreating ball carrier and carry them back for 30 yards before taking them down if you wanted to.
I thought JG showed some real promise near the end of the year. Early in the Vandy game he was decisive and accurate. We all know he has good arm strength. He did revert back to holding on to the ball too long and hesitating in that game, but if he can be more consistent he would be lethal.
