I just don't see us getting Tyson, Dubar, and Igor. Lanier, Dubar, Igor, and Okpara is a heck of a haul though. We might be even better on defense given how long we'll be. Barnes squads have lacked length for pretty much his entire tenure here.
The reality is one of our 3 posts were going to leave. There were just not enough minutes to go around. I'm sad it was Awaka, but I'm happy with Aidoo and JP. I think JP might have the highest ceiling of all of them personally.
I think Estrella will be very good as well. I don't think it'll be a big drop off at all, particularly once Estrella has the whole offseason to get even stronger.
I'd love a lineup of ZZ, Lanier, Mashack, Thomas, and Aidoo. I think it's clear we need more than 1 guy that can go get us a bucket. That's why UConn is so good imo.
What's with all the negative takes? He didn't really get much of a shot, mostly because we were really deep. Wish him luck, but this wasn't a surprise.
I just don't see it personally. Rick wants to play fast and spread the court more. Playing a true 4 and 5 just doesn't seem like how he wants to run his offense. Doesn't mean it couldn't happen, but I don't see it as likely.
Well if Aidoo is back, Awaka is not going to start. They're not going to start Awaka and Aidoo next to each other, given they played maybe 40 total minutes together this year. Mashack might start depending on who they bring in from the Portal and where Gainey/Carr/Dilione if he stays fit in.
I think the reality is someone from our 3 bigs is going to be gone, whether that's Aidoo, Awaka, or Estrella. It's just hard to convince a guy to wait two years for a major role in today's day and age.
