Exactly. Georgia would have been an at-large team last year and would have been favored over any other team. OF COURSE a team can win four games in the playoff. It wouldn’t shock me if it happened in year one of the expanded playoff.

Not to pick nits, but the 1997 national champion is not hotly “debated”. Michigan won the AP Poll, Nebraska won the Coaches Poll. There can be a debate over who the better team was, but both won national championships.
