Don’t know if this was mentioned before, but what about TWO 16-team playoffs?
The first set of 16 is like the normal CFP and the 2nd 16 is more akin to a (albeit better) NIT playoff.
Thus teams 17-32 (or 13-24) have more to play for than just a meaningless bowl game. Like the CFP, this...
I had already bought tickets to the Music City Bowl when they first went on sale (some friends & I go every year), so I’m not too tore-up about getting the MCB bid. In a rebuilding year like this, I’ll take a Vols bowl game only a half-hour away.
Let’s just enjoy 1 more game of Tennessee...
People really shouldn’t be losing their minds about this loss because the truth is that Vandy IS a better team overall than Tennessee this year.
Certain people on this board have been saying that Vandy was “fool’s gold” ALL season long and had a “weak schedule,” and some of us had been warning...
Defense playing well, Offense keeps shooting itself in the foot. We’ve had 3 turnovers, one a scoop-and-score, and a missed field goal. And we’re still down by only 6.
Good Lord, dude. I do not agree with you and I think your reasoning is flat-out wrong. I objected to you calling me a “lunatic” and a “clown” because I felt a Vandy loss today hurts us more than helps us in the long run, and while you may not agree, I also have good reasons for what I think. I...
You are so confidently wrong that it’s maddening. And insulting, to boot. Quit calling people clowns and being a jerk.
A 9-2 Vandy doesn’t help us as the assumption is that we beat them.
Is a win over a 10-2 team better than a win over a 9-3 team?
We didn’t need to worry about “being ahead...
You are letting foolish hate get in the ways of facts.
Teams on our schedule doing better makes our SOS better. It benefits us to have our remaining opponents win and NOT the teams NOT on our schedule. Texas winning negatively affects us in multiple ways.
Vandy losing now doesn’t help us at...
It’s not lunacy nor clownish. We have no good wins this season, and Oklahoma (who will likely have 3-4 losses by season’s end) would be our best win. A top-10 win over Vandy would have helped that. Texas winning and Vandy losing weakens our SOS and strengthens others.
This is a very bad result for us. We needed Texas out and a high-ranked Vandy in the last week. Those assuming just 10-2 will get us in are mistaken. We need to be one of the top 4 SEC teams at the end of the season and right now we are behind A&M, Alabama, Georgia, and Ole Miss. A resurgent...
Zach Groves showed-out for East Robertson in their victory over East Nashville tonight, 32-22, scoring 3 rushing TDs and tallying multiple sacks. He was a destructive force in the Eagle’s backfield all game.
