A win is a win and I would take a one point win over Vandy for sure. BUT, if we can find a way to dominate them (beat them by 2-3 scores), it bodes very well for us. Dominating two of your big rivals to close out the season is big. It would also keep Heupel undefeated against Kentucky and Vandy.
It really depends on how you define fixable. If fixable means, can this defense get to a "below average" level vs. "one of the worst in the country" level than yes, I think that's possible, especially if we get McCoy back. We need to clean up tackling. It would only take a mediocre defense to go...
I don't think anyone really knows because Tony himself probably does not know yet.
I will say that there's a common expression in business, "Time kills all deals." The longer it goes the better for us keeping him.
The part of these discussions that gets tired is the assumed black and white nature of the feelings towards Coach Heupel. There are some that think what Heupel has done is miraculous and therefore he should not be criticized and others who think he's awful. I'd say both of these camps are wrong...
Would a win at Bama be the biggest win in Heupel's career thus far? I know many would say the 2022 Bama game is the biggest but this win would CERTAINLY be the biggest win away from home in years.
We have not beaten a ranked team yet. Many of those above us have or are undefeated. I'm not worried about this poll. If we beat Bama we'll be top 10. If we go 10-2 we'll likely be in the playoff, having beaten Oklahoma and Florida. We are a play or two from being undefeated but also a play or...
Agree. If Indiana gets beaten badly we should jump them. Close one means we might not. Florida can beat A&M but I doubt it. If Indiana gets beaten badly and LSU somehow loses, we could creep into the top 10. Would be nice for Bama game to be a top 10 matchup.
This is progress. Neither Texas nor Penn State deserve to be ranked based on resume so far. 12 seems about right for us. Need to take care of business against Arky and may have a top 10 matchup at Bama.
Should move up AT LEAST 3 spots. Texas and Penn St just had horrible, and I mean horrible losses, both to teams with losing records. They will go way down.
I'd set the over/under on UT losses right now to 2.5. I think the final results for this season will be between 8-4 and 11-1 and I'm leaning more towards 9-3.
At Alabama will be very tough and likely a loss.
Oklahoma here and at Florida (only because its Florida) are toss ups.
The rest we...
