I do not like concentrating on one player but Zee Spearman has decided not to play basketball with the Lady Vols. Coach Caldwell needs to help Spearman correct this problem or sit her on the bench. The LVs would have won the Texas game with a more decent effort from Spearman in spite of her 4...
Both were in foul trouble. Include Barker also even though she scored 12 points, she would have scored more if not in foul trouble. Foul trouble and turnovers cost The LVs a win.
Madtownvol, your comments about CKC's ego-invested "system" is right on. The back-to-back losses to MState and UConn should tell her that her system works only sporadically in D1 play. She needs to change her "system" and become committed to defense and rebounding.
Madtownvol, your comments hit the nail on the head as always. CKC compiled an excellent winning percentage in D2 with her coaching style, however, this style does not work as well in D1. I believe strongly that the LVs defense, rebounding and scoring would improve greatly if she changed her...
I believe that the Lady Vols have a chance to defeat UConn if they are undefeated in the next 3 SEC games and there are no serious injuries to key players.
Madtownvol, you should be ashamed of yourself! Just kidding of course! However, as you said with humor sarcasm, Cooper was NOT the problem. CKC must realize that her system does not work against well coached D1 teams. The UConn win was a rare exception. CKC needs to change her game strategy to...
I do not like throwing any player under the bus, however Samara Spencer did not score in the loss to LSU. She scored 14 points in the win over UConn. She played approximately the same number of minutes in both games.
The LVs can win this game with the same formula that won the UConn game, namely, defense, rebounding and clutch offense. This is the formula that CPS used to win 8 national titles and over one thousand games.
LVs will win this game if they can hold UConn to 70 points or less AND T. Cooper scores 20 points or more. I am basing this opinion on data from the Vanderbilt, SC and Missouri games.
