I am not saying I think we will go 3-9, I still at this moment know 100% that we will make it to a bowl game (based on what I saw against Alabama with Dobbs as QB).
But for something that has never happened in the history of the program (lose 9 games) to happen to a coach in his second year...
The vertical passing game of Utah State's defense made it very hard to gain separation. They were playing 8 yards off our receivers and sprinting off backwards when the ball was hiked. We still took a couple of shots because of our talent.
The red team will have stalled drives. This will be the bulk of what they give us. At this point 2 red turnovers would be highly lucky for us, much less 4 and a blocked punt.
My point is that if we don't give them turnovers and can stop them from getting big plays on special teams, we can...
dun dun dun-un, dun dun-un dun dun-un.
dun dun dun-un dun dun-un dun dun-un.
dun dun dun-nun, dun-dun dunna-dut, dun duh, dun dun dunna-dut, dun duh, dun duh dun dun duh dun.
The only way the red team can get out of this being a close game is by making plays with special teams and forcing turnovers.
I think this could potentially be an edge for us.
