I tend to share your opinion, but she did have to play a true freshman at the point this year and didn't really have a direct replacement for Ruby nor, apparently, the leadership of some of last year's seniors. I just hope she loves winning more than she loves her system.
Oops, missed your...
Interesting! I voted for one more year, but if I had a do over I'd go with the 44%. I have no idea what she does or doesn't know about basketball or how willing she might be to change, but I do know that she had zero p4 experience of any kind when she was hired and that strongly suggested that...
Certainly she should have had a better record. I can think of at least three games she should have won, IMO, and some of the losses should have been closer; but my point is that not many coaches could have assembled as much talent as she did in so short a time when starting from such a low point...
A little off subject, but I think this year was always going to be difficult no matter who the coach was. Cooper was the only starter quality underclassman on Kellie's last team and with just one incoming signee from that year and the upperclassmen gone after last year, this year's team was...
A competitive NIL package gives a coach access to the players she wants but it doesn't absolve her of the need to be a good sales rep for herself and her program. Kellie was never good at that part of the job and there was no reason to think that more money would have changed that. IMO, Kim's...
I don't know what Kim's principal criteria for prospect evaluation are but I'm pretty sure defensive effort should be one of them if it isn't already. She has much to work on, and I hope she can find the will to do it.
Utilizing the time-honored S.W.A.G. method of professional estimation I have determined that the probability of Kim returning to TN for a third year is .70. (Estimation is subject to change with the emergence of new data or a couple more beers.)
Since we're talking about Kellie, has it occurred to any of you guys that if she had recruited better pre-NIL she might well have been given competitive funding. A couple of top five classes in her first two years might have loosened some booster wallets. Her class at Missouri this year is good...
LV's won a rock fight on the road against a team that likes to play that way. Certainly the offense could be more polished, but this group seems more capable of adapting to an opponent's style than last year at this time.
This is the question, I think. IMO Kellie is a good enough coach to keep MO competing for the top half of the league every year with sweet sixteen potential every two or three years, but that may or may not be good enough long term. In any case, I think a school like MO is Kellie's best bet if...
