I was at that game, one of my first games if not THE first. Missed the comeback because Dad wanted to beat the traffic. He is 91 now, I still bust his chops about that.

My dad was there. I was a puppy, not ready for that. Dad was an advertising guy around east Tennessee at the time, knew John Ward before he was "Voice of the Vols". Got his tickets through radio connections. I went to many a game as a kid with tickets from the Tennessee Broadcasting Association.

We had the momentum and the ball. I think the thought process was we hit a couple of first downs and kick. Worst thing that could happen was OT. We were clearly more comfortable in OT than they were.
