👍 Seems to me he was a P4 player that was missed in recruiting. He elevated quickly to P4 and played at that level. But each player, I'm sure, as a story about why and where they came from... I think he was at IWU only one season before getting to Washington St...

they don't get paid if not in the town that the school is in. Most of the revenue (if not all) comes from local businesses or boosters / donors. So to receive the funds, they have to execute the requirements of the agreement which does NOT include going to a school or athletic performance.

Because I've not found any Sunbelt QB that has found success in the SEC. There may have been but I can't recall or find one. Entirely different leagues and caliber of players. Can't just depend on his stats to assess his capabilities playing in this conference. Plus, there are many new pieces...

I think certain donors are going to always be aware of hirings and firings in athletics as long as they are pouring dollars into the program. That can be viewed many ways but I believe the Haslam's have the respect of UT admin to always be in the loop and admin will listen to their "advice"...

I seriously doubt it. Jimmy created some angst for a while with the Schiano deal (Peyton was involved as well) but feel comfortable in saying they are still the most powerful influencers.

but he can still transfer OUT of UT. two recent players who have transferred out: Aidan McGowan at Arkansas Jayden Anderson at Virginia Tech. Transferring out of a school happens all the time... Damarius McGhee transferred out of Kansas on July 2nd and committed to Florida Atlantic on July...

you can transfer at anytime. coaches can't contact you (exept they do) until you enter the portal but you can leave a school at anytime. He could go see other schools on his own dime.
