Just noticed on the roster that Serrano has lost ALL of the potential new catchers except one? I thought this would be a priority for the upcoming season with Houser the only one left.
Yes, because part of being a baseVol is the speed and judgement we've seen in their baserunning over the last two years:birgits_giggle::birgits_giggle:
Well, I can't speak for beachqueen, but actually I do not personally know Bennett or Manis. I just believe in replacing a player who is neither contributing defensively or offensively over several innings of a game. I did NOT mention a player's name and I really am not a fan of calling out one...
Yes, even though the box score counts only two errors this loss should have never happened. The first SC run came from a player who got on by catcher's interference error and then reached scoring position with a walk and a wild pitch (passed ball). The next inning they loaded the bases with...
Ok, I'm not a fan of players getting a lot of hype before they have any reason to. Usually (unless they are egomaniacs) the players realize it's not such a great thing either. It seems to be the whole "pride goes before a fall deal" and it never seems to go well. I do think it was wrong to...
I agree. Stated this on another thread. Serrano can't blame the woes on having a young team when he CHOSE to have the young team. If you will notice the ONE game they won this series (Staurday) was when he played a limited number or freshmen. Do NOT understand why he is hell bent on starting...
well look at todays lineup...seems like Serrano is trying to cut back on the youth factor. The only Freshman in the lineup today is Simcox and Houser at DH. Should be interesting to see.
I also am trying to stay positive but I think the chalk it up to youth excuse is wearing thin. This is a D1 school. These players were recruited to come here because Serrano felt they were better than the "Older Guys" he let go or the "lucky" few he did keep on the roster but now doesn't even...
" Williams hit his second homer of the year in the second inning of the game, but it was ruled a ball in play, going as an RBI single. "
This is how they described it on the SEC baseball write up. Guess the umps were wrong...haha

I'm guessing because after the minute maid tourny Walker was leading the SEC in passed balls - and missed quite a few ruled as wild pitches.
Ironically, it has been a complete role reversal. Bennett who was thought to be the best offensively has really stepped it up behind the plate - pretty...
Serrano was pretty clear in his recent interviews that no one had earned a spot with him yet. Obviously, Toles was too cocky to think that applied to him. Watched him last season and other than being a really quick runner he wasn't that impressive and even less so when you took into account...
