Perhaps the difficulties are not due to players, coaches, or system (I don't think it's any one of the three) but simply "fit" issues. It may be as subtle as pieces that fit individually not meshing as a group, which is something you can't easily predict by evaluating the individual pieces...

They gave an incredible effort against Houston and simply ran out of gas against Kansas. Syracuse is a really good team who took Houston to OT, so a tough game at their place is no surprise. Both teams seemed a bit sluggish after the 3 games in 3 days tourney.

I like Dayana Mendes' highlights. She has some size and quickness, scores from 3 levels, seems to anticipate on defense. I don't see any film of one on one defense, but she has the physical tools for that and rebounding.
