The postseason run last year kinda made it fly under the radar but Muss had a 16-22 SEC record the last two years. Both underperformed in a way - Muss moreso in the regular season and Cal in the postseason I suppose.
Not sure how true it is but apparently one of the Arkansas BOT members vetoed Beard because of his incident at Texas, even though others were all-in on him. So it didn’t end up happening despite all the smoke.
Louisville is a good example that history, facilities and fan support mean very little anymore. Don’t think coaches will be so quick to jump to “better” jobs nearly as much.
Ole Miss should never be able to keep a basketball coach over Arkansas but they’re committed 100% to NIL while the...
The AD Yurachek is getting completely scorched right now for not closing the deal on Beard. Might not end well for him if this hire is underwhelming after bad football and basketball seasons.
Tang or Wade seem to be the next options but after that I guess you just have to throw a dart at one of...
Missouri is a good example. Luther Burden could have gone anywhere, and if it wasn't for him Missouri probably wouldn't have gone 11-2 last season. Some of these kids want to singlehandedly change the perception of programs by themselves and truthfully it's hard to tell what a team will look...
Ole Miss and Missouri (comparable or worse programs) both winning double digit games this year definitely didn’t help either.
The Petrino and even Nutt years seem like a harder and harder level to reach with every year that goes by now. Probably why Bobby was brought back honestly.
The Purdue and Duke games showed the type of talent that is on the roster when they reach their ceiling but most of the season outside of that has just been completely awful basketball.
Been expected for weeks and why Petrino got Taylen Green from Boise in the portal.
Frees up about $900,000 in NIL. KJ definitely did a lot of good for Arkansas but wasn't worth that money with the season he had this past year. It was time for both sides to move on TBH.
Most likely. No idea if true but supposedly there was an agreement to let Pittman stay if his buyout money could be reallocated to NIL and Petrino being OC was one of the requirements from one/some of the boosters for letting him get another year.
The DC hire Travis Williams was looking like a great get until late in the season. Improved the Arkansas defense over Odom by quite a bit, but the offense kept leaving them out to dry so they eventually wore down. Led the SEC in defensive scores though.
In the SEC maybe but he's definitely not...
