Coincidentally, Georgia Southern's Athletic Director just tweeted that he was in Knoxville today (at Calhoun's). GSU is looking for a head coach after Jeff Monken left for Army on Christmas Eve. Could just be a coincidence. But GSU is moving up to I-A next year and is a pretty attractive job...

Just to further kill this (non)story...he's not leaving until after USC's bowl game.

I'm going with "no effect". Just people stretching to find something of meaning out of nothing due to the lack of anything official from either camp through all this.

Not sure why everyone is getting worked up. This hack hasn't actually said anything substantial yet has everyone's panties in a wad. He hasn't said anything that later he can't explain why it's wrong. He hasn't named a coach. Hasn't named a recruit. Just simply made up a story about a recruit...

Any connection between this and rumors that Ark is planning on announcing a coach this weekend?

I appreciate his effort and the work he did for UT. Not his fault that he should have never been HC at UT. Good luck on his next job! Sincerely hoping the best for him after he leaves Knoxville.
