The current predictor model has Georgia at #7 with a 30% chance of making the playoffs behind #2 Ohio State (56%) #5 Penn State (35%) and #6 Michigan (32%). Those three are all ahead of Georgia and all play each other at least once. The Bulldogs could very well win out, so what's the logic here???

No way keeping CJP makes any sense in terms of recruiting. Any high profile recruit knows if he's not gone this year it's just a matter of time. Who wants to play for a coach that can't develop just because he may get an extra year to compete with Vandy?
