Sad picture from Vol football history

The Rashes lived across the street from friends of our family. As kids we didn’t know how to deal with such an unthinkable thing.

What was the first Vols Football game you attended

I had a sideline pass for that game and got to go in the locker room and trot through the T. Pretty awesome for an 11 yr old.

What was the first Vols Football game you attended

November 1964. In Knoxville. KY 12 TN 7. Cold day. 15 punts. Doug Dickeys first year. We only won 1 SEC game in ‘64 and this one had to hurt. Played 3 QBs including the AA punter and BB star Ron Widby. Future All American LB Paul Naumoff played WR in this game! You would never see that...

Nice narrative and insight. It is hard to watch what used to be our strength (point guard play and few turnovers) become our weakness over one season - it’s like a vicious cold snap in October, that if it hit in February you would barely notice it. I feel that Barnes is really getting tested...

The End of College Football That We Knew and Loved

They could continue to mess with the broadcast machine as well. Having to pay to watch, endless commercials, games lasting four hours. Announcers that think they’re the show. Get off my lawn.

The End of College Football That We Knew and Loved

Was The Place at the corner of 22nd and Cumberland next to Brownies? I remember Hobos but can’t place it - believe it was further east and on a side street….but a lot of fuzziness about those days.
