It’s going to be interesting to see if any of these Universities can sustain even this level of spending. At some point it has to get old writing 7-8 figure checks with no tangible return other than hopefully seeing success on some athletic field.

Even if the Vols win the natty, it will be nothing like 98. Think about the multi-year starters that were all -time greats. Even Tee waited his turn and stayed four years. Al Wilson, etc. The transfer portal has turned that on its head and there is little to no continuity with the players...

They are turning college football into a pure professional league. Given that it will be the second-tier professional football league, how can it continue to thrive? Minor League baseball is what it is fast becoming.

I give Heupel credit. He obviously was pissed as hell about this season. About a lot of things…many of which probably have been discussed on here. He’s doing some serious house cleaning. And firing the DC and S&C coach is very telling of where he was most dissatisfied.

Now it changes to “he waits too long and replaces his coaches with the wrong coaches.”
