Normally you're right but this barely top 1000 player just had 137 tackles (33 for loss), 3 sacks and 3 INT on defense while racking up 381 yards of offense (333 receiving, 48 rushing). Earned Region 7-AAA Defensive Player of the Year honors for the second season in a row.
correct I was just summarizing. Spyre Sports is where the offer would come from. And the article did say the offer was from a collective which we're one of the few schools to have if I'm not mistaken
Rumor is the recruit is Nicholas Iamaleava and the school offering the 8 mil is UT and that's why there's been a massive swing in predictions for him to commit to us
that's basically my point. No doubt they're throwing bags they just had the highest rated class ever but we're supposedly offering deals that rival theirs. The people saying we're getting killing by NIL are wrong imo. They just have a NC winning coach and ours is in his 2nd year
I haven't seen it described any differently than I described it. They evaluate everyone's returning roster, recent on field product and recruiting class and use it to form more or less advanced power rankings. I take it as more or less a Final top 25 prediction not preseason
I think the crowd saying we're behind on NIL is in large part just the sky is always falling crowd we have around here. Walter Nolen said if he was picking a school just on NIL deals it would've been us not A&M. And I've heard A&M had a 35 million dollar NIL budget this year
If they were going to fire him they'd have done it this week. If he wins 8-9 games this year he's definitely not going anywhere. They'd be on the hook for like 40 mil in buyouts
I think the logic is you get twice as good of a seat for the same money. For a big game in Neyland upper deck seats hit the 220 range online all the time. 220 on the street gets you a great seat in the lower deck
