    Recruiting Football Talk VII

I’m not an attorney, but I can see this judge ruling one of two ways. Since there’s no immediate specific monetary damages cited, I can see him not issuing the restraining order and allowing this to play out in court, but the warning given to the NCAA will in effect act as one. I can also see...

‘Power T’ flag outside the federal courthouse.

This is not about the University of Tennessee vs the NCAA. It’s the states of Tennessee and Virginia against the NCAA. While the NCAA’s handling of things with UT may have pushed these proceedings, the university is not involved in this specific case. It’s an important distinction people...

They must have taken a break from worrying about a possible bowl ban.

Since it’s almost 4:00 pm, what’s the thought on if we’re going to hear from the judge today on a temporary restraining order as requested?

I’d bet the TN/VA response will be extremely interesting. I’m sure they anticipated the NCAA’s responses and are prepared to respond. These seemed somewhat predictable. The Bryce Young example seems to be throwing something against the wall hoping it will stick.

Excellent white paper on NCAA legal position

You don’t bring an ambulance chaser to this fight. I have no doubt there’s top lawyers involved. Tennessee has been too well orchestrated on this so far to think they went bargain shopping for attorneys.

The only way to defeat a bully is to stand up to them. In all actuality, the NCAA has screwed themselves. If they back down, they’ll look weak and powerless. If they proceed, then they will have set the precedent their guidelines don’t matter and can change anytime they want. I’m sure member...

'24 TN WR Amari Jefferson (Alabama commit)

Yes…would be funny for him to get drafted high enough to never play college bal. That would leave Bama short a receive.

From what I’ve heard, and you may have heard similar things, it seems the “negative” recruiting about Heupel’s offense worked here. I’m not sure why, give the reigning Biletnikoff Award winner is from Tennessee. However, the comments I’ve heard were Alabama’s offense was more of a pro style...

I know a lot discount baseball, but he’s been invited to and has played well in a number of invitational only showcases. MLB scouts are interested in him. If he has a great senior year, he may be drafted high enough to where he’ll never set foot on a college football field.

If I was AP, I wouldn’t be so sure on the baseball part. I’d be willing to speculate that if he has a great senior season in baseball and gets drafted high enough, he might not play college footbal.

What do you mean? I was just saying this isn’t true and people have made an issue out of nothing.

I‘ve seen this posted and versions of it but it’s not true and whatever happened was completely blown out of proportion by others.

Tony Vitello could be the actual difference maker. Amari is determined to play baseball, and we all know who has the better program and coaches amongst his top 3. Of course, a lot can change and he could end up being drafted in next year’s MLB draft and never see college. I know all 30 MLB...
