Much more mixed than I expected as well.
Which actually feels in line with the game being one of the more evenly matched ones between us and Georgia in awhile. Stockton is a definite downgrade from Beck IMO. I thought Beck got unfairly derided last year and he's actually a pretty good college...
The AP Poll has been such hot garbage early this year.
I thought we were ranked too low after Week 1, but somehow they jump us 7 spots for beating ETSU? The end result is closer to where we probably should be, but the logic on how we got there makes no sense. Meanwhile, if we lose by 3 to...
I agree. I thought Beck was underrated and losing him was a bigger deal than people made it out to be. That said, Georgia is still absolutely loaded with talent and could clobber us. But this is also the best I've felt about our chances in years.
While I'd only put so much stock into the quant polls 2 weeks into the season, right now Sagarin suggests that Tennessee should be the favorite next week.
1 Oregon 94.36
2 Ohio State 94.08
3 Penn State 90.93
4 Notre Dame 90.80
5 Alabama 90.39
6 Texas 90.04
7...
Agree with everyone else. It's easier-than-average for an SEC schedule, but still one of the tougher schedules in the country.
Only seems "easy" compared to teams like Florida, which has one of the most brutal schedules I've seen in decades of watching football. USF was way better than people...
Meh.
Can't really blame Gundy for getting a bigger paycheck. Blame the crap Tennessee ADs who kept pursuing him when they should've known his interest wasn't genuine.
As for Gundy, he probably should've accepted one of those jobs. OK State doesn't have the NIL money to compete now that T...
I glossed over that one when posting this, but yeah ... that's probably the most embarrassing scheduled game of the day!
I didn't even realize there was a school called "East Texas A&M". Even more confusingly, Texas A&M is already in east Texas and East Texas A&M is barely to the east of Texas...
I'm ecstatic football has started back, but as someone watching for several decades, I can't ever remember Week 2 not being a let down. In Week 1 you get big exciting marquee games. In Week 3, you start getting great conference games. Week 2 is always filled with bad games.
That said, here are...
I feel like people are reading too much into Arch overthrowing a few passes in a game where he was playing the defending national champ and effective #1 team in the nation on the road. He was under constant pressure and was going against a DC that won 3 Super Bowls. I don't know if he's legit or...
I can't imagine remembering a password from a message board I never used 14 years ago. And then dealing with the frustration of resetting the password, just to post some dumb thing .... for a team that's not yours, not a rival, not even in your conference, and you haven't played in nearly 20...
While that was an encouraging game for the season, the number of injuries we had on D is concerning. Hate to lose Moi for season. Hope we don't lose anyone else and just minor stuff otherwise.
It has more to do with Heupel's coaching and QB development than "the system".
I'd say it's more like Heupel looks for QBs that fit his system and then develops them, but there are good college QBs that wouldn't necessarily fit into the Heupel system.
I think we still win with Nico, but it's mostly because of the running game. At least a 60% chance that Nico botched that TD pass that Aguilar threw and it's a closer game, though.
But Syracuse looked better than I expected. I know it's Week 1 and there's no reference, but they did a lot of...
