Corkscrew BBQ in Spring, TX and Truth BBQ are both excellent. Corkscrew has crazy waits if you go on the weekends though.

It’s a decent easy to find bourbon. Their single barrel and Bottles in Bond and significantly better for a $10-12 price increase.

The unmarked 131 proof is batch 18. It was the A (First) batch release in 2022. They moved to 3 batch releases in 2023 and they started putting batch numbers on all bottles with 22B.

Obviously taste is very subjective and each year is different on the SiB and CYPB but…last year I thought the CYPB was MUCH better and had the SiB below it and the Full Proof. Full disclosure I do usually prefer higher proof.

John J Bowman is the single barrel

I have some Hazmat stuff. EC Barrel Proof C923 was 133. I think my sweet spot is 115-120 but have found stuff I really like in the higher proofs too.

Right next to Wake Forest. About 20 minutes North of Raleigh.

Green River makes a very good economy bourbon.

Hell. I’d buy a bottle of all 3. Not the biggest buffalo trace fan but I’ve had some barrel picks that were damn good.

I’m a day late but I found it interesting. Hope to one day have a chance to be a part of a similar experience.
