That's just not true. Somebody who knows what they're looking at can tell the difference between a splitter and a spitter. The "majority" of guys who threw the split-fingered fastball were NOT throwing a spitball. Just dumb.
Silly comment. Lorenzen--the Pillsbury Throwboy--could actually throw the football well. He was also a great athlete. Overweight, yes...but he could play. Deacon Hill can't play a lick.
Al--as has been posted--played at crosstown rival Jackson Central Merry.
And, believe it or not, as a high school running back Al was not even the leading rusher on the team despite averaging almost 10 yards per carry!

No matter the sample size, and individual's plus/minus will always be overwhelmingly affected by the performance of the other 4 players the individual has been on the court with. Put me on the court for 50 games with LeBron, Embid, Curry, and Tatum and my...
Plus/minus can be very misleading and has fallen out of favor as an evaluation tool...you are analyzing a specific player when you use plus/minus, yet the stat is heavily dependent on what the other 4 guys on the floor are doing.
