First time I've really seen him make a concerted effort after initial contact to grind out more yards. Ran with authority today and was damn glad to see it.
I'm glad to see that Bajakian is very capable of calling good plays in the clutch, particularly with all the complaints about being "vanilla" and "predictable." The whole 4th quarter, particularly the 4th down calls, as well as the OT calls were stellar.
Positives for me so far:
1. Our play in the second half seems to be better than the first - this is the complete opposite than under Dooley the last 3 years, and to me is the sign of a good coaching/scheming and adjusting.
2. Discipline. We still rank #2 in the nation in penalties per game...
Point well taken, but keep in mind, the '09 team had some really good talent: Eric Berry, Dan Williams, Janzen Jackson, Montario Hardesty, Luke Stocker, etc.
I like the enthusiasm though, Go Vols!!!
Watching the replay of the game I'm counting 3 penalties. Corey Miller's late hit, Couch off sides and Tiny was called for holding in the 3rd quarter on the play before Worley's interceptions. What am I missing? The box score on ESPN.com also shows only 2.
9 hours from Orlando is just too far...and I'm jealous of everyone who has the opportunity to be there. I hope that everyone who can go will go; the staff and the team need the support. GO VOLS!
